Application process

Four steps to becoming a student.

Most students complete the full application in under an hour. We'll guide you through each step.

STEP 01

Choose your programme

Browse our programmes across theology, education and TIVET. Reach out to admissions if you'd like to discuss a fit.

STEP 02

Submit your application

Complete the online form and upload your KCSE / KCPE certificates, ID copy, two recommendations and a personal statement.

STEP 03

Pay the application fee

KSh 1 200 for diploma and bachelors; KSh 1 500 for masters and doctoral. Non-refundable, payable via M-Pesa or bank transfer.

STEP 04

Receive your offer

Decisions are issued within 2–3 weeks. Once accepted, you'll receive a joining letter and orientation pack.

Entry requirements

Who can apply.

Applications may be submitted through the University's online application portal or by downloading the application form, completing it, and submitting it to the Admissions Office during official working hours 8:00am-5:00pm.

Scott Christian University welcomes applications from international students. Applicants intending to study through the Online Study Mode may complete the admission process remotely. Those applying for the Regular (On-Campus) Study Mode must also satisfy the applicable immigration, visa, and documentation requirements before enrolment.

Minimum Admission Requirements

Certificate Programmes
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum mean grade of D (Plain) or an equivalent qualification recognized by the University.
Diploma Programmes
  • KCSE with a minimum mean grade of C- (Minus) or a relevant Certificate from an accredited institution.
  • Diploma in Education: KCSE with a minimum mean grade of C (Plain).
Bachelor's Degree Programmes
  • KCSE with a minimum mean grade of C+ (Plus) or a relevant Diploma from an accredited institution.
  • Bachelor of Education: KCSE with a minimum mean grade of C+ (Plus), including C+ (Plus) in the two teaching subject combinations, in accordance with the University's admission requirements.
Master's Degree Programmes
  • A recognized Bachelor's degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division), or Second Class Honours (Lower Division) with a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the University.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programmes
  • A recognized Master's degree in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Applicants may also be required to submit a concept paper or research proposal in accordance with the admission requirements of the respective programme.
