The academic year begins in August and consists of two semesters, beginning in August and January. Each semester is seventeen weeks in duration. These are followed by block courses from May.
The August semester begins with a three day workshop on Evangelism, Discipleship, Biblical Education by Extension and Group Leadership for students in the first year, second year, third year and fourth year respectively.
January semester begins with a two week block course and ends with graduation, followed by a 10 day Evangelistic Campaign for the continuing students.
From May there are three teaching blocks:
- Block Course A 10th - 28th May
- Block Course B 7th - 25th June
- Block Course C 5th - 23rd July
During these times the University invites visiting lecturers with special competence from Nairobi and elsewhere to teach courses in their area of competence.
