Persons wishing to apply for admission to study in the Bachelor of Theology degree programme are expected to provide the University Admissions Officer with evidence that he or she meets the academic qualifications for admission, together with the specified application fee.
The admissions Officer then registers this person as an applicant and issues an application form and associated documents. On the return of the completed application form and the other specified documents, the Admissions Officer contacts the persons specified in the application to obtain the necessary references and letter of commendation.
When all the documentation is complete, the Admissions Officer submits the completed application to the Admissions Committee. Ordinarily the Admissions Committee then decides on the action to be taken, which may be acceptance of the applicant for admission to study, rejection of the application or requesting further information. In exceptional cases, the Admissions Committee may refer an application to the Academic Council for action.
Once a decision is made on the application, the Admissions Officer advises the applicant of the outcome as expeditiously as possible. In the case of successful applicants, they are advised that admission to study is conditional in the payment of the fees covering at least the first term prior to beginning studies.
Before commencing studies, every student is required to indicate an unreserved personal agreement with basic Christian doctrines by signing the appropriate form as provided in the University statutes.
